MLB: San Diego 1, Milwaukee 0

SAN DIEGO, May 20 (UPI) -- Orlando Hudson's bases-loaded sacrifice fly in the ninth inning Thursday delivered the game's only run in the San Diego Padres' 1-0 win over Milwaukee.

San Diego's Aaron Harang and Milwaukee's Chris Narveson dueled into the eighth inning without surrendering a score and the Padres called on closer Heath Bell to work the ninth.

Bell (2-0) worked around a one-out bunt single by Jonathan Lucroy and became the winning pitcher when the Padres pushed across a run in the bottom half of the inning.

Marco Estrada (1-2) was brought in by the Brewers in the ninth and he gave up a leadoff single to Ryan Ludwick. Eric Patterson then came on to run and stole second and pinch-hitter Brad Hawpe was intentionally walked.

Cameron Maybin sacrificed the runners to second and third, bringing about an intentional walk to Chase Headley that filled the bases. Hudson hit Estrada's first pitch to right field for the game-winning sacrifice fly.

The teams split their two-game series.
