
CINCINNATI, May 19 (UPI) -- Neil Walker stroked two doubles and drove in two runs Thursday to help the Pittsburgh Pirates beat Cincinnati 5-3 and finish off a two-game sweep of the Reds.
Ryan Doumit hit a solo home run and Andrew McCutchen drove in a run for the Pirates, who had lost six straight prior to the series against Cincinnati.
Pittsburgh starter James McDonald (3-3) went 6 2/3 innings, allowing one run on seven hits with one walk and four strikeouts.
Joel Hanrahan got his 12th save despite serving up a solo home run to Jay Bruce to lead off the ninth -- Bruce's second solo shot of the game. Joey Votto drove in a run for the Reds, who have lost two straight following a five-game winning streak.
Cincinnati starter Johnny Cueto (2-1) went five innings, allowing three runs on five hits with three walks and five strikeouts.
