MLB: Minnesota 4, Oakland 3 (10 innings)

OAKLAND, Calif., May 19 (UPI) -- Trevor Plouffe drove in Delmon Young with a sacrifice fly in the 10th Wednesday to give the Minnesota Twins a 4-3 win over Oakland.

The Twins have won back-to-back games after losing eight in a row.

Plouffe had a two-run single in the third that put Minnesota in front 3-2 but the Athletics tied it in the sixth on an RBI base hit by Hideki Matsui and it remained deadlocked until the 10th.

With Oakland closer Brian Fuentes (1-4) on the mound in the 10th, Delmon Young singled to open the inning. Alexi Casilla then hit a grounder back to Fuentes, who threw wildly to second, allowing Young to go to third.

One out later Young came in on Plouffe's fly ball to right.

That gave the win to Joe Nathan, who worked the ninth, and Matt Capps retired the side in order in the 10th for his seventh save.

The Athletics had won two straight.
