DUSSELDORF, Germany, May 18 (UPI) -- Doubles wins by Argentina and the United States set up a series to determine the group entrant in the finals of the World Team Cup in Germany.

Argentines Juan Ignacio Chela and Juan Monaco defeated Swedes Simon Aspelin and Robert Lindstedt 7-6 (7-1), 6-0 and locked up a best-of-three series, giving Argentina a 2-0 record in Red Group round-robin play.

The Americans had improved to 2-0 in group play with a 6-3, 7-6 (12-10) victory by Mardy Fish and John Isner over Kazaks Andrey Golubev and Mikhail Kukushkin.

That sets up a series Thursday and Friday between Argentina and the United States -- a rematch of the 2010 World Team Cup final, which Argentina won -- with the winner moving to Saturday's finals.

The Blue Group was left with four 1-1 records after Wednesday's results. The final round-robin pairings have Germany playing Russia and Serbia going against Spain to decide the group finalist.

Spain picked up its victory when Daniel Gimeno-Traver edged German Philipp Kohlschreiber 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 in singles and Marcel Granollers and Marc Lopez teamed for a 7-6 (9-7), 6-3 win over Christopher Kas and Philipp Petzschner.

Serbia had clinched its series against Russia with two singles victories Tuesday, but Russia's 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 doubles win Wednesday by Igor Andreev and Dmitry Tursunov could figure important in the tiebreaking system.
