MLB: Colorado 5, San Francisco 3

DENVER, May 17 (UPI) -- Carlos Gonzalez capped an eighth-inning rally with a go-ahead, two-run single Tuesday, boosting the Colorado Rockies to a 5-3 win over San Francisco.

Trailing 3-1 entering the eighth, the Rockies scored four times to stun the Giants and vault over San Francisco into first place in the National League West.

After Ryan Spilborghs and Chris Iannetta led off with singles, pinch-hitter Alfredo Amezaga laid down a sacrifice bunt attempt that Giants starter Jonathan Sanchez (3-3) fielded and threw wildly to first, allowing Spilborghs to score.

Javier Lopez came in to pitch and Dexter Fowler greeted him with a game-tying RBI double. One out later, Gonzalez grounded a single into right, scoring two runs and giving the Rockies a two-game series sweep.

Matt Belisle (4-2) picked up the win for tossing a scoreless top of the eighth and Huston Street racked up his 14th save.

Colorado starter Ubaldo Jimenez allowed three runs on eight hits over seven innings.

Pat Burrell doubled home a pair of runs for the Giants.
