
KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 16 (UPI) -- Matt LaPorta went 4-for-4 with four RBI and Michael Brantley socked a three-run homer Monday in the Cleveland Indians' 19-1 rout of Kansas City.
Brantley added an RBI single and Orlando Cabrera contributed three hits and three runs driven in for the Indians, who matched their biggest inning of the year with 10 runs in the fourth.
The 19 runs were the most scored by Cleveland since a 22-4 victory over the Yankees on April 19, 2009.
Travis Buck went 3-for-6 with three runs scored and an RBI as the first-place Indians bashed out 20 hits after enduring rainouts both Saturday and Sunday.
Josh Tomlin (5-1) earned the victory, limiting the Royals to one run on five hits over six innings, issuing no walks and striking out one.
Royals starter Kyle Davies (1-6) got the loss despite pitching only 1/3 of an inning before coming out of the game with an injury.
Reliever Vin Mazzaro was charged with 14 runs on 11 hits over 2 1/3 innings, boosting his ERA to 22.74.
