BOSTON, May 16 (UPI) -- Adrian Gonzalez belted a game-winning double in the bottom of the ninth Monday, rallying the Boston Red Sox to an 8-7 victory over Baltimore.
The Bosox, who once trailed 6-0, battled back but came into their final at-bat behind by a run at 7-6.
Orioles closer Kevin Gregg (0-1) issued one-out walks to Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia before Gonzalez then socked a pitch off the Green Monster in left field, driving in the game-winning runs.
The clutch hit made a winner of Alfredo Aceves (1-0), who yielded one run in three innings of relief.
Gonzalez finished 3-for-5 with three RBI while Kevin Youkilis and Jason Veritek each added a pair of hits and two runs driven in for the Red Sox, who won their fourth straight and moved over .500 (21-20) for the first time this year.
Orioles starter Chris Tillman tossed five shutout innings, allowing five hits.
Vladimir Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a run driven in and Mark Reynolds socked a solo homer and added an RBI single for Baltimore.
