MEMPHIS, May 14 (UPI) -- Zach Randolph paced a huge second half Friday that vaulted Memphis to a 95-83 win over Oklahoma City and forced a seventh game in their playoff series.
The Thunder and Grizzlies will meet in a deciding contest Sunday in Oklahoma City just hours before Chicago and Miami open the Eastern Conference finals. It will be the first Game 7 in this year's NBA playoffs.
The Oklahoma City-Memphis winner will begin the Western Conference finals Tuesday in Dallas.
Oklahoma City built a 10-point halftime lead and appeared headed for a series-clinching victory. Memphis, however, shut down Kevin Durant over the final two quarters and outscored the Thunder 51-29 during the third and fourth periods.
Randolph made 12-of-22 shots from the field and scored 30 points to go with 13 rebounds. O.J. Mayo added 16 points.
Durant made only 3-of-14 attempts from the field and connected just once in nine tries from 3-point range. Russell Westbrook carried the Oklahoma City load with 27 points.
Not only will this be the first series to go the distance this season, it has featured four overtime periods -- three of them coming in one game.
Dallas has not played since Sunday, as it awaits the winner of the grueling Oklahoma City-Memphis battle.
