BLACKBURN, England, May 14 (UPI) -- Manchester United clinched its record 19th English Premier League championship Saturday with a 1-1 draw against Blackburn.

Man United now has one more league title than Liverpool.

Wayne Rooney saved the day for the Red Devils by converting a penalty kick in the 73rd minute after Blackburn goalkeeper Paul Robinson fouled Javier Hernandez.

Blackburn took a 1-0 lead in the 20th minute and nearly took a 2-0 lead on a header by Martin Olsson that bounced off the post.

Nani had an early chance for Man United.
