Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI

DETROIT, May 14 (UPI) -- Brad Penny tossed eight shutout innings Saturday and the Detroit Tigers cruised past Kansas City 3-0.
Penny (4-3), who has yielded two runs or less in four of his last five starts, stayed hot Saturday, limiting the Royals to five hits, issuing no walks and striking out two.
Jose Valverde collected his 10th save of the season with a scoreless ninth.
The Tigers notched all three of their runs in the first inning on run-scoring singles from Miguel Cabrera, Victor Martinez and Jhonny Peralta.
Royals starter Jeff Francis (0-5) settled down after the initial frame but the damage was done. He gave up seven hits and a walk over eight innings while fanning five as Kansas City dropped its second straight to Detroit.
