Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
CHICAGO, May 13 (UPI) -- Reed Johnson drove in four runs and Darwin Barney three Friday in powering the Chicago Cubs to an 11-4 win over the San Francisco Giants.
The decision broke the Giants' six-game winning streak.
Johnson had a bases-loaded triple in the Cubs' five-run seventh inning and knocked in another run in the eighth. Barney singled the last run in Chicago's three-run second, doubled in a run in the seventh and knocked in one in the three-run eighth.
Chicago starter Ryan Dempster (2-4) limited the Giants to two runs on six hits and a walk while striking out 11 in six innings of work.
San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner (0-6) gave up the first three runs and took the loss, but the San Francisco bullpen was touched for eight runs and nine hits over two innings.
The Giants had a 1-0 lead after the first but fell behind in the second when Koyie Hill executed a safety squeeze and got Alfonso Soriano home before Starlin Castro and Barney had back-to-back RBI singles.
In the seventh Barney doubled the first run and Jeff Baker the second before Johnson tripled into the right-field corner for an 8-2 lead.
Castro and Barney had RBI singles in the eighth, setting up Johnson to finish the scoring with a base hit.
Andres Torres had three hits and scored two runs for San Francisco. Aubrey Huff and Cody Ross reached to drive in two runs for the Giants.
