PITTSBURGH, May 11 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda allowed three hits and teamed with two relievers on a shutout Wednesday, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers past Pittsburgh 2-0.
Kuroda (4-3) did not allow a hit until the fifth and struck out eight in seven innings. Matt Guerrier worked a 1-2-3 eighth and Vicente Padilla survived a one-out double in the ninth to collect his third save.
The Dodgers have won two in a row after having dropped seven out of nine.
Both Los Angeles runs came in the sixth off starter Paul Maholm (1-5), who loaded the bases to open the inning on two walks and an infield single.
Juan Uribe then grounded into a double play that brought home Ivan DeJesus with the first run of the game.
Andre Ethier, who advanced from second to third on the Uribe double play, scored on a double by Jerry Sands.
