MILWAUKEE, May 10 (UPI) -- Zack Greinke held San Diego to two runs over six innings Monday, boosting the Milwaukee Brewers to a 4-3 decision over the Padres.
Greinke (1-1), a major free-agent acquisition by the Brewers during the off-season, earned his first victory for Milwaukee in his second start since returning from a cracked rib injury.
The right-hander didn't issue a walk and struck out nine for the Brewers, who began a three-game series against the Padres with a victory.
John Axford tossed a scoreless ninth inning to earn his sixth save.
Ricky Weeks knocked in runs with a solo homer and a single and Jonathan Lucroy had two hits and an RBI for Milwaukee.
Mat Latos (0-5) took the defeat, surrendering four runs on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings for San Diego.
Jason Bartlett led the Padres at the plate with a pair of hits, including an RBI single.
