
KANSAS CITY, Mo., May 8 (UPI) -- Solo homers by Kevin Kouzmanoff and Kurt Suzuki were part of a 12-hit attack Sunday that lifted Oakland to a 5-2 victory over Kansas City.
Tyson Ross (2-2) allowed two runs on six hits in six innings and then received three hitless innings of relief help. Brian Fuentes struck out one during a perfect ninth for his ninth save.
Conor Jackson had three hits for the A's and his first-inning, RBI single opened the scoring. Josh Willingham also brought in a run in the first with a fielder's choice grounder.
Kouzmanoff hit his third homer of the season in the sixth, Coco Crisp singled in a run in the eighth and Suzuki produced his fourth blast of the year in the ninth.
Jeff Francis (0-4) suffered the loss in a 6 1/3-inning effort. He gave up three runs on eight hits.
