MLB: LA Angels 2, Cleveland 1 (11 innings)

ANAHEIM, Calif., May 7 (UPI) -- Torii Hunter singled to left with the bases loaded and none out in the 11th Friday, bringing the Los Angeles Angels a 2-1 decision over Cleveland.

The Angels finished with 14 hits to just three for the Indians, but each side managed only one run during the middle innings until Los Angeles finally broke through in the 11th.

Los Angeles loaded the bases on consecutive singles by Eric Aybar, Bobby Abreu and Maicer Izturis off Justin Germano (0-1). Hunter, hitless in his first four at-bats, then delivered the game-winning blow to help the Angels record their third straight victory.

Fernando Rodney (1-1), the fourth Los Angeles pitcher, got the win by working the top of the 11th. Starter Tyler Chatwood allowed a run on just two hits through eight innings with five strikeouts.

Cleveland's Justin Masterson gave up a lone run on nine hits in seven frames.
