Kyle Busch wins Nationwide race

DARLINGTON, S.C., May 6 (UPI) -- Kyle Busch tapped the wall early in the race Friday and then avoided a multicar crash to win the Royal Purple 200 Nationwide Series race at Darlington Raceway.

Busch passed Elliott Sadler to take the lead with 24 laps to go and went on to win by almost 4 seconds over Denny Hamlin. It was the 48th series win for Busch, one short of the career record held by Mark Martin.

Busch was battling Kasey Kahne for the lead on the 17th lap when he scraped the wall. Seven cars were involved in a pileup that took place on the 95th lap after a restart.

Sadler finished third, followed by Justin Allgaier and Steve Wallace. Allgaier holds a five-point lead over Sadler in the championship race.
