OAKLAND, Calif., May 5 (UPI) -- Jack Hannahan drove in a run in the 12th and then scored the game-winner Thursday, pushing the Cleveland Indians to a 4-3 victory over Oakland.
After the Indians produced two runs in the top of the 12th, they survived an Oakland threat in the bottom half of the inning to capture the deciding contest in a three-game series.
Cleveland has won eight out of nine.
Orlando Cabrera reached on a one-out single in the 12th against Craig Breslow (0-2) and went to second on a walk to Austin Kearns. Hannahan then put Cleveland in front with a base hit that drove in Cabrera.
Cleveland next tried to work a double steal but Kearns was thrown out at third. After reaching second on the back end of the attempted double steal, Hannahan scored on a single by Lou Marson.
Chris Perez came on in the bottom of the 12th and collected his ninth save, despite giving up a run on two hits and a walk before getting Hideki Matsui to pop up to shortstop for the final out.
The win went to Chad Durbin (2-1), who worked two shutout relief innings.
Oakland closed out a seven-game homestand with a 4-3 mark.
