Vikings fullback Felton charged with DWI
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla., May 4 (UPI) -- Adam Lind had a two-run homer among his four hits Wednesday, leading the Toronto Blue Jays to a 3-2 victory over Tampa Bay.
The Blue Jays halted a three-game losing streak, surviving a shaky ninth inning by closer Frank Francisco.
Lind hit his home run in the first inning and David Cooper doubled home Toronto's third score in the fourth.
Brandon Morrow (1-1) limited the Rays to a run on five hits with seven strikeouts over 6 1/3 innings and Toronto then got a combined 1 2/3 innings of one-hit relief from Jason Frasor and Marc Rzepczynski.
Francisco came on in the ninth to pick up his first save of the season, but he made things interesting before closing out the win. Francisco issued two walks and Sam Fuld produced a two-out single that cut the Tampa Bay deficit to one and put the potential tying run on third.
Ben Zobrist, however, grounded out to first base to end the game.
Tampa Bay starter Jeff Niemann (1-4) was removed from the game after four innings due to tightness in his back. He allowed three runs on six hits.
The Rays have lost three out of five.
