
BOSTON, May 3 (UPI) -- Jon Lester yielded only one run over seven innings and the Red Sox bashed three homers Tuesday in Boston's 7-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels.
Lester (4-1) held the Angels to six hits while walking only one and fanning 11 for the Red Sox, who beat the Angels for the second straight time in their four-game series at Fenway Park.
The Bosox took a 2-1 lead in the sixth inning on RBI singles from Adrian Gonzalez and Jed Lowrie. They then broke the game open with back-to-back eighth-inning homers from Gonzalez and David Ortiz and another from Marco Scutaro.
Angels starter Dan Haren (4-2) was tagged with the loss, yielding four runs on nine hits over seven innings.
Mark Trumbo knocked a solo homer and drove in another run with a sacrifice fly for Los Angeles.
