ST. LOUIS, May 2 (UPI) -- Struggling Florida Marlins infielder Donnie Murphy went on the 15-day disabled list Monday with right wrist inflammation, the National League club said.

The move is retroactive to April 30.

The 28-year-old player, who made his way back to the starting lineup this spring after recovering from surgery on the wrist he dislocated last Sept. 1, is batting .103 (4-for-39) with three RBI in 18 games this season.

The Marlins recalled outfielder Bryan Petersen from Class AAA New Orleans to take Murphy's roster spot.
