
CINCINNATI, May 1 (UPI) -- John Buck and Greg Dobbs each homered among three hits Sunday and the Florida Marlins socked five long balls en route to a 9-5 win over Cincinnati.
Emilio Bonifacio hit a three-run shot, Hanley Ramirez launched a two-run homer and Mike Stanton chipped in a bases-empty clout for the Marlins, who took the rubber match of a three-game series against the Reds.
Ricky Nolasco (3-0) earned the victory, holding Cincinnati to three runs on six hits and a walk over seven frames. He struck out five.
Closer Leo Nunez had to be summoned for his ninth save after Brian Sanches surrendered two runs in the ninth as the Marlins continued the best start in franchise history, improving to 17-9.
Jay Bruce hit a two-run homer and Brandon Phillips added a solo shot for the Reds.
Cincinnati starter Bronson Arroyo (3-3) yielded five runs on seven hits over seven innings.
