CLEVELAND, May 1 (UPI) -- Michael Brantley drove in the go-ahead run with an eighth-inning single Sunday and the Cleveland Indians rallied for a 5-4 win over Detroit.
Trailing 3-2 entering the eighth, the Indians scored three times, logging their 13th straight home win and sweeping a three-game set with the Tigers.
Shin-Soo Choo led off the frame with a single and one out later Joaquin Benoit (0-2) hit Shelley Duncan with a pitch. Orlando Cabrera then drove in the tying run with a single and Michael Brantley made it 4-3 with another RBI hit.
Matt LaPorta finished the rally by driving home Cabrera with a sacrifice fly, which proved crucial when Indians closer Chris Perez allowed an RBI single to Detroit's Miguel Cabrera in the ninth.
Chad Durbin (1-1) picked up the victory for the first-place Indians after fanning Brandon Inge with two on and two out in the top of the eighth.
Don Kelly had two hits and an RBI for the struggling Tigers, who lost their sixth straight contest.
