MOBILE, Ala., May 1 (UPI) -- Maria Hjorth fired a 5-under-par 67 Sunday, rallying from two shots back to post a two-stroke victory in the Avnet LPGA Classic in Alabama.

Hjorth, who came into the day tied for fourth at minus-5, finished at 10-under 278, two better than third-round co-leader Song-Hee Kim, who managed a 1-under 71 on the final day at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

The Swede moved three ahead after draining a 12-foot birdie putt on No. 15 and hung on as Kim eagled the par-5 16th but couldn't close the gap over the final two holes.

Hjorth, who won last year's season-ending LPGA Tour Championship, notched her fifth career victory.

Tied for third at at minus-7 were Na Yeon Choi (69) and Suzann Pettersen (70).

Sixteen-year-old Lexi Thompson, who held a share of the lead after three rounds, faltered in her bid to become the youngest winner in tour history. She struggled to a 6-over 78 and tied for 19th at minus-1.
