MLB: Seattle 5, Boston 4

BOSTON, April 29 (UPI) -- Jack Cust doubled home the go-ahead run in the seventh inning Friday and Seattle overcame two homers by Mike Cameron to defeat Boston 5-4.

The Mariners captured their season-best fourth straight, having swept Detroit in a three-game series that saw Seattle outscore the Tigers 24-6.

Boston had a 4-3 lead going into the seventh, two of the runs coming on solo homers by Cameron in the second and fourth.

Ichiro Suzuki singled to open the Seattle seventh off reliever Bobby Jenks (1-2) and Chone Figgins doubled Suzuki to third.

After Milton Bradley struck out, Miguel Olivo's grounder to second delivered Suzuki with the tying run.

Figgins went to third on Olivo's grounder and eventually scored on a double to center by Cust.

Jason Vargas (1-2) allowed four runs on eight hits over seven innings to get the win. Both Jamey Wright and Brandon League threw a perfect inning with League picking up his sixth save.

Boston has dropped three out of four after winning five straight. Starter Daisuke Matsuzaka left the game in the fifth inning with tightness in his right elbow.
