ESTORIL, Portugal, April 29 (UPI) -- Kristina Barrois and Anabel Medina Garrigues each won in straight sets Friday and earned spots in the finals of the Estoril Open tennis tournament in Portugal.

Barrois opened semifinal play with a 7-6 (6-2), 6-4 victory over Johanna Larsson and Medina Garrigues followed with a 6-1, 6-3 decision against Monica Niculescu.

Barrois piled up six service breaks in her match and she needed them because she dropped her own serve five times, including three games of the first set. She won 52 percent of the points off Larsson's serve.

Medina Garrigues was in much more control, taking 62 percent of the points in the match. She lost the only break point she faced but converted five of the six break opportunities she had against Niculescu.

Barrois won her only previous career match against Medina Garrigues.

The winner of the Estoril Open will take home $37,000 while the runner-up settles for $19,000. Larsson and Niculescu each won $10,200 as semifinalists.
