NBA: Miami 97, Philadelphia 91

MIAMI, April 27 (UPI) -- Joel Anthony and Dwyane Wade scored the game's final five points Wednesday to push Miami into the conference semifinals with a 97-91 victory over Philadelphia.

The Heat needed five games to eliminate the 76ers in the opening round of the playoffs and will now meet Boston in a much-anticipated series.

Wade, who was joined this year by LeBron James and Chris Bosh to make up one of the most formidable lineups in the NBA, led the way with 25 points. Wade, however, made only 10-of-25 shots from the field and the Heat managed the victory despite shooing a mere 40 percent.

Bosh had 22 points and James had 16 while Mario Chalmers came off the bench to hit 6-of-12 from 3-point range and score 20.

Philadelphia was within a point as the final moments ticked down, but Anthony made two free throws with 17 seconds to play.

After Philadelphia's Andre Iguodala missed a jumper with 9 seconds remaining, Wade was fouled and converted 1-of-2 from the line. Jodie Meeks then missed a 3-point attempt for the 76ers and Wade closed out the scoring with a breakaway dunk just before the buzzer.

Iguodala and Elton Brand both had 22 points for the 76ers, who returned to the playoffs this season after going 27-55 during the 2009-10 campaign.
