MEMPHIS, April 23 (UPI) -- Zach Randolph fired in 25 points Saturday and the Memphis Grizzlies took a 2-1 lead in their first-round playoff series with a 91-88 win over San Antonio.
Randolph's 3-pointer with 41 seconds left sealed the win, giving the eighth-seeded Grizzlies a five-point advantage over the team with the NBA's best regular season record.
San Antonio's Manu Ginobili responded with a pair of free throws but was tied up by a pair of defenders and couldn't launch a potential game-tying 3-point try as time ran out on the Spurs' final possession.
The Grizzlies got 17 points from Marc Gasol and 14 from Mike Conley. They will look to take a two-game lead over the heavily-favored Spurs in their Western Conference quarterfinals series in Monday's Game 4 at Memphis.
Ginobili ended with 23 points and Tony Parker added 16 for the Spurs.
