SAN JOSE, Calif., April 23 (UPI) -- Mariano Trujillo's late goal Saturday broke a tie and handed Chivas USA its first win of the season, 2-1 over San Jose.

Justin Braun entered the penalty area on the right in the 85th minute and launched a shot toward the far post on the winning play. Earthquakes goalkeeper Jon Busch made the initial save but the rebound went right to Trujillo, who found the net with a close-in shot.

Alejandro Moreno scored in the first half for Chivas, which appeared headed for its fourth straight tie but instead improved to 1-2-3 with the victory.

Chris Wondolowski tallied in the first half for the Earthquakes (1-3-2), who dropped their second straight contest.
