TORONTO, April 19 (UPI) -- Travis Snider bashed a game-winning double in the 10th inning Tuesday, completing the Toronto Blue Jays' 6-5 comeback win over the New York Yankees.
Trailing 5-3 entering the ninth, the Jays scored twice off Yankees closer Mariano Rivera to tie the game. Jose Bautista came home from third on a one-out squeeze bunt laid down by John McDonald to forge a 5-5 deadlock.
Edwin Encarnacion led off the 10th with single off Ivan Nova (1-2) and two outs later Snider ripped a pitch into the right-center field gap, sending it to the wall as Encarnacion (3-for-5) scored the winning run.
The big hit made a winner of Jon Rauch (1-1), who had tossed a scoreless top of the 10th despite yielding a pair of walks.
Curtis Granderson and Mark Teixeira each hit a two-run home run for the Yankees, who lost the first contest of a two-game series in Toronto.
