TAMPA, Fla., April 19 (UPI) -- Pittsburgh's Chris Kunitz and Tampa Bay's Steve Downie have each been suspended for the next game of the teams' first-round NHL playoff series.

The two wingers will sit out Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinal series Wednesday in Tampa for their roles in incidents during Monday's Game 3, which was won by Pittsburgh.

Kunitz was suspended for elbowing Simon Gagne in the head 5:39 into the first period. Downie left his feet and launched himself into Ben Lovejoy 10:49 into the period.

The Penguins lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.
