TORONTO, April 16 (UPI) -- Chris Pontius and Charlie Davies netted early goals Saturday and D.C. United parlayed the scores into a 3-0 victory over Toronto FC.
Pontius found the net in the 5th minute. He took a pass from Dejan Jakovic, drove to the box on the left side and fired a left-footed shot past Toronto goalie Stefan Frei.
Only 5 minutes later, Davies added his league-leading fifth goal, sliding to get a foot on a deflection after beating a defender to send the ball inside the right post from 12 yards out.
Pontuis got a second goal in the game's closing seconds for United (2-2-1), who won for the first time since opening week.
Toronto (1-2-3), meanwhile, suffered its first defeat since Week 1.
