ATLANTA, April 16 (UPI) -- Jair Jurrjens hurled seven shutout innings Saturday and the Atlanta Braves swept a doubleheader with a 4-0 whitewash of the reeling New York Mets.

Jurrjens (1-0) pitched well in his first start of the season after missing time with a right oblique strain. He yielded only two hits and a walk while striking out four for the Braves, who won Saturday's first game 4-2.

George Sherrill and Scott Linebrink logged a total of five strikeouts over the final two innings to complete the two-hit shutout.

The Braves were led at the plate by Eric Hinske's three hits and run batted in.

The Mets, meanwhile, dropped their seventh straight -- their longest losing streak since an 11-game slide in 2004.

Mike Pelfrey (0-2) was touched for four runs on 11 hits over five-plus innings for New York.
