SAN ANTONIO, April 15 (UPI) -- Rich Beem and Kevin Sutherland both carded a 2-under 70 Friday, registering the best days among seven players tied for the Texas Open lead after two rounds.

Others in the logjam at the top included Geoff Ogilvy (72), Brandt Snedeker (72), Charley Hoffman (73), Kevin Chappell (73) and Brendan Steele (72).

All seven co-leaders go into the third round at 3-under 141.

Windy conditions at TPC San Antonio caused scores to soar throughout the day. Gusts approached 30 mph on several occasions, playing havoc with the competitors' aim.

Defending Texas Open champion Adam Scott, coming off a runner-up finish at the Masters, posted a 2-over 74 but still was only one shot off the pace at minus-2.

He shared eighth place with Dean Wilson (72), Matt Every (69) and Cameron Tringale (71).

Kevin Na, who shot a historically bad 16 on the par-4 ninth hole in Thursday's first round, missed the cut with a 5-over 77 Friday.
