ATLANTA, April 14 (UPI) -- John Buck put Florida ahead with an RBI single in the seventh inning Thursday and the Marlins hung on for a 6-5 victory over Atlanta.

Gaby Sanchez and pinch-hitter Wes Helms collected one-out singles off losing pitcher Eric O'Flaherty (0-1) and Buck grounded a hit to center, breaking a 5-5 tie and enabling Florida to take the rubber match of a three-game series at Turner Field.

Brian Sanches (1-0) earned the victory after getting three outs in the sixth. Mike Dunn and Clay Hensley combined for two shutout innings and Leo Nunez pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up his fourth save for the Marlins.

Sanchez also homered and Logan Morrison added a two-run double for Florida.

Atlanta's Brian McCann blasted a three-run homer among his two hits.
