CHICAGO, April 13 (UPI) -- Kyle Korver scored 19 points and hit the final free throws Wednesday in helping Chicago go into the playoffs on a solid note with a 97-92 win over New Jersey.
The Bulls (62-20) won their final nine games of the regular season and will be the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference when the playoffs begin this weekend. Chicago's opening-round opponent will be Indiana.
This is the first time Chicago will be the No. 1 seed since 1998, when Michael Jordan and the Bulls won their sixth NBA crown in eight years.
Rasual Butler put Chicago in front on a 3-pointer with 46.1 seconds to go and Korver hit a pair of free throws with 10 seconds left.
Derrick Rose scored 16 for the Bulls, who went 36-5 on their home court this season.
New Jersey was led by Jordan Farmar with 21 points. The Nets (24-58) closed the campaign with five straight losses.
