MLB: Seattle 3, Toronto 2

SEATTLE, April 13 (UPI) -- Michael Pineda pitched into the eighth inning Tuesday and led the Seattle Mariners past Toronto 3-2.

Pineda (1-1) allowed two runs -- one earned -- on five hits and struck out seven in 7 1/3 innings.

Toronto's Ricky Romero (1-1) pitched a complete game, giving up three runs -- two earned -- on five hits and eight strikeouts. Romero has given up five earned runs in three starts this spring.

Corey Patterson drove in both Toronto runs with a single in the eighth inning.

Seattle took a 3-0 lead in the third inning on a two-run homer by Ryan Langerhans followed by a two-out RBI single by Milton Bradley.
