CHICAGO, April 13 (UPI) -- Coco Crisp knocked in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning Wednesday during an Oakland Athletics rally than stunned the Chicago White Sox 7-4.
The A's torched Chicago's bullpen for three runs in the ninth to pull even at 4-4 and then added three more in the 10th to notch the win and take the rubber match of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field.
Cliff Pennington's game-tying, two-run single off Sox closer Matt Thornton (0-2) with two out in the ninth forced the extra frame. In the 10th, the A's coaxed back-to-back, one-out walks off Thornton and Crisp's single gave Oakland its first lead.
Daric Barton followed with another single, scoring two insurance runs.
Grant Balfour (1-1) earned the victory with a scoreless bottom of the ninth and Brian Fuentes collected his fifth save with a 1-2-3 10th for Oakland.
White Sox starter John Danks limited the A's to one run on five hits over eight innings.
Juan Pierre went 3-for-4 with a run scored for Chicago.
