MLB: LA Dodgers 6, San Francisco 1

SAN FRANCISCO, April 12 (UPI) -- Clayton Kershaw shut out the Giants for 6 2/3 innings Monday, boosting the Los Angeles Dodgers to 6-1 victory over San Francisco.

Kershaw (2-1) yielded six hits, walked two and struck out seven in beating the Giants for the second time this season. He notched a win over San Francisco in the March 31 season opener for both teams at Dodger Stadium.

Rod Barajas hit a solo homer, Andre Ethier contributed two singles and a pair of RBI and Jamey Carroll went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Dodgers, who improved to 6-4 on the season.

Giants starter Madison Bumgarner (0-2) was tagged for five runs on eight hits in a five-inning start, surrendering four walks while striking out three.

Pat Burrell went 2-for-2 with two walks and an RBI for San Francisco.
