
HOUSTON, April 12 (UPI) -- Hunter Pence drove in four runs and Brett Myers tossed seven innings of one-run ball Tuesday, sparking the Houston Astros to an 11-2 rout of the Chicago Cubs.
Pence went 3-for-5 with a two-run double, Angel Sanchez contributed four hits and a pair of RBI and Humberto Quintero added three hits while scoring twice for the Astros.
Myers (1-0) scattered eight hits, walked none and struck out five, improving to 9-0 in his last 10 starts against the Cubs as Houston won for the only third time in 11 games to start the season.
Chicago committed three errors en route to its third loss in four games.
James Russell (1-1) lasted only 1 2/3 innings is his first major league start, surrendering five runs (four earned) on seven hits.
Tyler Colvin and Starlin Castro drove in the Cubs' runs.
