MLB: Atlanta 5, Florida 0

ATLANTA, April 12 (UPI) -- Tommy Hanson and three relievers combined on a five-hit shutout Tuesday in the Atlanta Braves' 5-0 whitewash of Florida.

Hanson (1-2) fired seven scoreless innings, allowing four hits, walking two and striking out five, as the Braves improved to 5-6 on the season.

Eric O'Flaherty and Peter Moylan combined for a scoreless frame and Scott Linebrink tossed the ninth to complete the shutout.

Brian McCann and Jason Heyward belted solo homers and Chipper Jones drove in two runs with an RBI single and a sacrifice fly for Atlanta.

Florida starter Chris Volstad (0-1) was tagged for five runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Chris Coghlan and Mike Stanton contributed a pair of hits for the Marlins.
