Wozniacki takes Charleston for third title

CHARLESTON, S.C., April 10 (UPI) -- Top-ranked Caroline Wozniacki collected her third title of the year Sunday, dispatching Elena Vesnina in the final of the Family Circle Cup tennis event.

Wozniacki breezed to 6-2, 6-3 victory over the Russian, breaking her serve three times while saving each of Vesnina's four break-point chances.

The world No. 1, who also emerged with wins at Dubai and Indian Wells this year, collected her 15th career win.

The victory avenged the 20-year-old Dane's loss in the Charleston final two years ago to Sabine Lisicki.

Vesnina remained winless in five career finals.
