NHL: Pittsburgh 5, Atlanta 2

ATLANTA, April 10 (UPI) -- Back-up Pittsburgh goalie Brent Johnson turned aside 37 shots Sunday and the Penguins concluded the regular season with a 5-2 win over Atlanta.

Ben Lovejoy racked up three assists while Mike Comrie, Pascal Dupuis, Mark Letestu, Michael Rupp and Tyler Kennedy each scored for the fourth-seeded Penguins.

Pittsburgh ended the season with four straight wins, compiling a 49-25-8 record. The Pens will face fifth-seeded Tampa Bay in the first round of the playoffs.

The Thrashers (34-36-12) got goals from Tim Stapleton and Andrew Ladd and Chris Mason stopped 15-of-19 shots.
