NEWARK, N.J., April 10 (UPI) -- Johan Hedberg turned aside 26 shots Sunday and the New Jersey Devils closed out their season with a 3-2 victory over Boston.

Patrik Elias, Vladimir Zharkov and Alexander Urbom tallied for the Devils, who ended the year at 38-39-5 in what may have been Coach Jacques Lemaire's final game behind the bench for the team.

Lemaire told reporters after the game he's not returning to coach the Devils next season.

The Northeast Division-champion Bruins got goals from Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly while Tuukka Rask stopped 29 shots in the loss.

Boston (46-25-11), which clinched the third seed in the Eastern Conference, will face Montreal in the first round of the playoffs.
