MLB: New York Mets 8, Washington 4

NEW YORK, April 10 (UPI) -- Ike Davis belted a go-ahead, two-run triple in the sixth inning Saturday, rallying the New York Mets to an 8-4 win over Washington.

Trailing 4-3 in the sixth, David Wright coaxed a lead-off walk from Tom Gorzelanny (0-1) and Carlos Beltran (2-for-4 with two homers) reached on Jerry Hairston Jr.'s error in left field.

One out later, Davis sent a shot into the right-center field gap, plating two runs to put the Mets ahead for good and helping to snap a three-game New York losing streak.

Jose Reyes added a two-run double and Chris Capuano (1-0) earned the victory with six innings of four-run ball, allowing seven hits with a walk and striking out eight.

The Nationals got a three-run homer from Danny Espinosa and Ian Desmond added a solo shot.
