Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 10 (UPI) -- Jered Weaver struck out 15 batters over 7 2/3 innings Sunday, pacing the Los Angeles Angels' 3-1 victory over Toronto.
Weaver (3-0) held the Blue Jays to one run on four hits and four walks, becoming the first major-league pitcher to reach the three-win plateau this season.
Fernando Rodney tossed a scoreless ninth to rack up his second save for the Angels, who took the rubber match of a three-game series in Anaheim.
Peter Bourjos drove in a pair of runs with a fourth-inning triple and Torii Hunter added an RBI single for Los Angeles.
Toronto's Jo-Jo Reyes (0-1) was saddled with the loss despite allowing only one earned run on six hits over seven innings.
