
SAN DIEGO, April 10 (UPI) -- Hiroki Kuroda threw 8 2/3 innings of shutout ball Saturday and the Los Angeles Dodgers responded with a 4-0 victory over San Diego.
Kuroda (2-0) lasted until there were two outs in the ninth. He limited the Padres to six hits and two walks, striking out four in a dominating performance.
Jonathan Broxton, who got a save earlier Saturday when the Dodgers prevailed in the resumption of a game suspended from Friday, issued a walk before recording the final out for another save, his fourth.
Andre Ethier socked a bases-empty homer among his three hits and Casey Blake added an RBI for Los Angeles.
Padres starter Dustin Moseley (0-2) issued three runs (two earned) on eight hits over six innings of work as the Padres lost for the fourth time in five games.
