Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

DETROIT, April 10 (UPI) -- Wilson Betemit when 4-for-4 with an RBI Sunday and the Kansas City Royals used a 15-hit attack to dispatch Detroit 9-5.
Chris Getz drove in a pair of runs with two sacrifice flies while Jeff Francoeur added two hits, an RBI and two runs scored for the Royals, who took the rubber match of a three-game series at Comerica Park.
Luke Hochevar (1-1) collected the victory with seven innings of work, in which he yielded four runs (three earned) on five hits, walking none and striking out six as Kansas City improved to 6-3 to start the season.
Miguel Cabrera, Jhonny Peralta and Alex Avila all homered in Detroit's loss.
The Tigers' Rick Porcello (0-2) was tagged for five runs on nine hits over a five-inning start.
