SEATTLE, April 10 (UPI) -- Justin Masterson held Seattle to one run over 6 1/3 innings Saturday and the Cleveland Indians eked out a 2-1 victory over the Mariners.
Masterson (2-0) fanned nine batters and walked only one in turning in his second solid start of the season. He limited the White Sox to only one run in seven innings in his initial outing last weekend.
The Indians, who won their sixth straight, got both their runs on the fourth-inning same play. Asdrubal Cabrera scored on Orlando Cabrera's sacrifice fly and Shin-Soo Choo crossed the plate behind him when outfielder Milton Bradley's errant throw went into foul territory.
Doug Fister (0-2) absorbed the hard-luck loss for the Mariners, yielding only one earned run over six innings as Seattle dropped its sixth straight.
