PHOENIX, April 10 (UPI) -- Chris Young smacked a three-run, go-ahead homer in the eighth inning Sunday, rallying the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 10-8 victory over Cincinnati.
Trailing 7-6 entering the eighth, the D-backs scored four times to come away with the win.
With two on and two out, Steven Drew tied the score with a single, plating Gerardo Parra with the equalizer off Nick Masset (0-2). Young followed by blasting a pitch deep into the left-center field seats, handing Arizona the rubber match a three-game set in Phoenix.
Aaron Heilman (1-0) was credited with the win despite allowing the Reds to take the lead in the seventh on a two-run homer by Jonny Gomes.
J.J. Putz surrendered three hits and a run in the ninth but still managed to notch his third save.
Gomes finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Joey Votto added four hits and a run batted in for Cincinnati.
