
PHILADELPHIA, April 9 (UPI) -- Andrej Meszaros logged two goals and two assists Saturday, propelling the Philadelphia Flyers to a division title with a 7-4 win over the New York Islanders.
Scott Hartnell also found the net twice for Philadelphia (47-23-12), which wrapped up its regular season scheduled by clinching its first Atlantic Division crown in seven years.
The win also enabled the Flyers to lock up the second seed in the Eastern Conference. They will host Buffalo in the opening round of the playoffs.
Kimmo Timonen and Danny Briere added goals for Philadelphia. Rookie goalie Sergei Bobrovsky allowed three goals on 10 shots before being pulled in the first period.
Brian Boucher entered, making 25 saves the rest of the way.
John Tavares scored and added two assists for the last-place Islanders (30-39-13).
Rick DiPietro turned aside 32-of-38 shots in the loss.
